How does lip filler work?

You can read more about what dermal fillers are here.

Enhancing lips with filler is a very popular treatment. At the beginning of your appointment, we’ll talk about the result you want to achieve, take photos and sign the consent form. Then in most cases we’ll apply topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) for 10-minutes.

The actual injections are very quick and won’t take more than 10 minutes. After injecting the dermal filler, the gaps and spaces inside the lip tissue are filled, integrating nicely, and result in a beautiful, smooth look.

You’ll see the result straight away but be prepared for some downtime -  swelling and (sometimes) bruising is normal. We recommend you avoid coffee and alcohol before the appointment to minimize swelling. Lips can be swollen for 2-5 days so please be patient and trust us when we say the swelling will go down.

Do you do β€œRussian Lips”?

β€œRussian lips” is a popular trend these days, especially on social media. The result of lips done using this technique are very prominent and flat with extreme lip borders. It might look appealing to some of our clients, but we’re not big fans of this technique due to the high-risk of long-term complications and filler migration.

Instead of pure β€œRussian lips” our lip filler queen Renjini uses a combination of different lip filler techniques. Combining a cocktail of tips and tricks from practitioners all around the world that she’s trained with, and her own passion and experience – Renjini has proudly developed her own signature lip filler style.

How much filler will I need?

We offer 2 options for our clients 1ml and 0.5 ml. The amount depends on the size of your natural lips and the result you want to achieve.

If you have very small lips, we recommend 0.5ml on your first appointment. After 3-4 months you can get another 0.5ml. With small lips we prefer to go very slowly. If your lips are medium size, then 1ml is a good amount of filler for your first appointment.

A small amount of lip filler and our special technique can also add just a little bit of volume and hydration to already beautiful lips.

To maintain your beautiful new lips, you can book a top-up appointment with us every 6-12 months.

How long does Lip Filler last?

Individual results may vary, but lip filler treatments commonly last between 6 – 18 months. The more often you have lip fillers, the longer it lasts.

Can you dissolve Lip Filler?

Yes. As with any treatment we recommend you research the clinic you’re visiting – especially for Lip Fillers. Inexperienced injectors can leave you with unwanted results - overfilled lips or filler migration. In this case lip filler can be easily dissolved with  Hyalase – an enzyme that breaks down the HA that lip filler is made of. It starts working straight after the injection and continues to so for 48 hours. Then you will need to wait 1-2 weeks before getting lip filler again. The price for dissolving existing Lip Fillers is from $100.

Does it hurt?

As with any treatment, it depends on the pain tolerance of the individual. We can use numbing cream to minimize the discomfort.

How much does it cost?

Every person is different, so the amount used will vary.
