What is the difference between Ultraformer 3, Ulthera and Ultraformer MPT?

Ulthera and Ultheratherapy was the first HIFU device, it’s aproximatelly 10 years old and the technology is very outdated, slow and painful plus it’s extremely expensive to perform.

Ultraformer 3 is about 6-7 years old device that was a number one HIFU device in the world, much faster and more effective than Ulthera.

Ultraformer MPT is the very latest version for 2024, incredibly more effective in fat reduction with treatment time at least twice faster than Ultraformer 3. Plus there is much less discomfort and more predictable results in skin tightening. Ultraformer MPT is The World’s Only Micro and Macro-Focused Ultrasound System. Multi-functional cartridges delivering focused ultrasound energy at various depths – 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 9mm and 13mm allows treatment on both face and body areas with optimal speed, comfort and efficacy for collagen stimulation, dermal micro-coagulation, and subcutaneous fat micro-reduction.

What is involved in the treatment?

We will first ask you about your goals and identify if the Ultraformer MPT is a right treatment for you. We don’t recommend Ultraformer for clients who have a very thin skin and severe laxity (surgery will give better results) or/and low facial volume and hollows. Also for clients with sun damage we recommend a course of BBL or Moxi laser first to repair collagen before stimulating the new one.

Then we take your before photos and after cleaning the skin we apply ultrasound gel on the treatment area. We use special cartridges to deliver the energy into the skin, with deeper penetration on “heavier areas” and more superficial ones for upper face and eyes. Plus Ultraformer MPT has an additional Ultra Booster handpiece for even more precise control during the session.

The session takes 5-40 minutes depending on the area treated.

How many Ultraformer MPT treatments will I need?

The amount of treatments depend on the client and their concerns. If your goals are to prevent and reverse the signs of ageing in a quick, non-invasive treatment Ultraformer MPT is the gold standard of non-surgical skin tightening. Clients with mild to moderate skin laxity will only need 1 treatment once a year. 2-3 treatments are recommended for fat reduction and more intense contouring and for body treatments.

Does it hurt and is there a downtime?

HIFU is a high intensity focused ultrasound. Ultrasound is a sound energy, so it goes through the skin without damaging it. So after Ultraformer MPT there is zero downtime. The areas can be slightly pink for a short period of time and tender to touch. Bruising and swelling are very rare. You can go back to your normal activities right after the session (but no exercises for 24 hours).

Ultraformer MPT is a very comfortable procedure, you can feel some heat and occasional sharp sensations deeper in the skin or over the bony areas. But as with any treatment, it depends on the tolerance of the individual. Some people experience discomfort while the energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and a positive sign that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

When will I see results?

You’ll feel an immediate tightening of your skin in the treated area, as the heat from the Ultraformer MPT energy contracts your collagen fibres. But long terms results will become more obvious in the coming weeks and peak between 4 – 6 months following treatment. Ultraformer MPT treatment stimulates fibroblasts - cells that produce collagen and elastin. That takes time and resources from the body so we recommend to our clients have high protein diet and stay in stable weight.

Can you combine other treatments and Ultraformer MPT?

Absolutely! To achieve maximum result you should get different treatments to target different concerns. For superficial skin issues like pigmentation and redness the best options are BBL and Moxi laser. Injectables can be also a great addition to Ultraformer, for example after treating “double chin” area we often add dermal filler to the chin and jawline to sculpt the area even more. Most of the treatments can be done on the same day. Simple rule is - Ultraformer first, fillers, and Botox® after.

Does Ultraformer MPT replace a face lift?

No :) Plastic surgery like a face lift is a serious and traumatic procedure that can cost $20k-$40k and has many risks and long downtime. But in cases of severe laxity only surgery can give satisfactory long term results. Ultraformer MPT and other energy based devices give subtle skin tightening and lifting with minimum/no downtime so we can’t really compare it with surgery.
