Reduce Fine Lines & Wrinkles With Short PDO & PCL Threads

Promote collagen production & improve the quality of your skin.

What are Short Threads?

Short threads, also known as mono threads, are made from biodegradable materials used for skin tightening and promote collagen in the skin of the face and body.

At Clinic 1 we use 2 types of short threads – PDO (polydioxanone) and PCL (polycaprolactone.) It’s the same material used for internal sutures. Very fine threads are inserted under the skin using tiny needles. This creates an inflammatory response and stimulates neocallogenesis. After a few months the short threads completely dissolve leaving stronger, healthier skin.

What do Short PDO & PCL Threads help with?

·       Promoting collagen production

·       Increasing overall skin health

·       Reducing fine lines & wrinkles

·       Reducing acne scarring

Where can Short PDO & PCL Threads be used?

Almost everywhere on your body:

·       Under eye area

·       Cheeks

·       Jawline

·       Acne Scars

·       Neck

·       Forehead & between eyebrows

·       Décolletage

·       Stretchmarks

·       Sagging skin on stomach

How many Threads will I need?

The number of Short Threads used will vary between 10-200 and are dependent on the area you want to treat. Please contact us to book a consultation and talk about a bespoke treatment plan for you.

Does it hurt?

As with any treatment, it depends on the tolerance of the individual. We use topical anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.

How long do Short Threads last and how much does it cost?

PDO Threads last in the skin for 6 months and cost $20 per thread. PCL threads last in the skin for 18-24 months and cost $40 per thread. Please refer to our price menu or contact us to book a consultation.

Do you do ‘Fox Eyes’?

Please note at Clinic 1 we do not do ‘Fox Eyes.’ There’s a popular myth across social media that thread lifts can achieve results like blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery.) But it’s not realistic. Yes, we can get some lift for eyebrows (tails only) using threads and it will give the effect of more open eyes – but only for 2 weeks. You might see photos with extreme pull but it’s only because of the initial tightening – it doesn’t last long and doesn’t affect the shape of the eyes.

If your concern is overly sagging skin on the upper eyelids, plastic surgery is the best option. But for fine lines and wrinkles around the eye’s short threads, PRP and FillMed NCTF are amazing treatments.
